Director R&D

GVP College of Engineering for Women has made concerted efforts to focus its ​Research & Development activities on expanding frontiers of knowledge and ​technological developments. To create a name for itself in R&D activities, the ​college has initiated several steps including funding for conferences, ​workshops and computational devices. The college R&D activities are looked ​after by Prof. K. Raja Rajeswari, Retd. Professor of Andhra University as ​Director - R&D of the college. The faculty and students of the college have ​published their research results in SCI, SCIE and Scopus indexed journals. To ​uplift the image of the college, we are planning to organize various technical ​events in the campus with external funding from various organizations like ​SERB, DST, AICTE, DRDO and from professional bodies like IETE, CRSI which ​helps to update the knowledge of the faculty and students in the recent trends ​of technological growth.

Dr. RK Goswami completed his MTech in Radar and Communications from IIT Delhi and ​subsequently, continued in IIT Delhi to work on a data link project, where he designed and ​developed the algorithm for RF modem and implemented the same on floating point Digital ​Signal Processor SHARC, ADSP 21060. Dr. RK Goswami subsequently, completed his PhD in ​Electronic and Communication Engineering from Andhra University during which, he ​designed the Forward error Correction Schemes in respect of multipath channel. Dr. RK ​Goswami is Chartered Engineer, Senior Member of IEEE, Fellow of Institution of Engineers ​and Institution of Electronic and Telecommunication Engineers. He is also the Life member ​of Computer Society of India, All India Management Association, Institution of Aeronautical ​Society of India and Indian Institution of Industrial Engineers. He has published more than ​80 papers in the various national, international journals and conferences. He has published ​one patent and had also received three copyrights for his work. His areas of interests ​include Computer Networks, Signal Processing, Image Processing, Artificial Intelligence and ​Software Engineering.

Dr.P.M.K.Prasad received M.E. in Systems and Signal Processing from university College of ​Engineering, Osmania University, Hyderabad and Ph.D from Andhra University, ​Visakhapatnam in the area of Digital Image Processing. He has twenty eight years of ​experience in teaching. Currently, he is working as an Associate Professor and HOD, ​Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, GVP College of Engineering for ​Women, Visakhapatnam. Dr. B. Vijaya Lakshmi completed her secondary education at the Government School in Payakaro ​Peta,Visakhapatnam district.She earned her degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from ​the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) in New Delhi. Following that, she ​pursued her M.Tech degree in Instrumentation and Control from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological ​University, Hyderabad, and obtained her Ph.D. from Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur. Her doctoral ​research specialized in Wireless Communications “OPTIMZED SPECTRUM SENSING”using cognitive radio ​technologies.Presently, Dr.B. VijayaLakshmi serves as an Associate Professor in the Electronics and ​Communication Engineering Department at Gayatri Vidya Parishad College of Engineering for Women in ​Visakhapatnam, India. With over 14 years of teaching experience, she has published articles in ​esteemed journals indexed by SCOPUS and Google Scholar. Her research interests encompass Spectrum ​Sensing, Wireless Communication (4G, 5G), and advanced technologies such as 6G. She is actively ​organizes and participates various international and national conferences. Currently, she is guiding one ​research scholar towards a Ph.D. and has successfully mentored numerous B.Tech/M.Tech projects.

Dr.D.V.A.N.Ravi Kumar was born in Visakhapatnam. Dr. P .V. S.LAKSHMI JAGADAMBA awarded Ph.D in Faculty of Engineering Computer Science and Engineering ​from Andhra University, Visakhapatnam in the area of Bioinformatics and Expert Systems. She has been a ​teacher for 23 years and worked in industry for 2 years. Currently, she is working as Professor and HOD, ​Department of Computer Science and Engineering, GVP College of Engineering for Women, Visakhapatnam. ​Her areas of interest in the field of study include bioinformatics, graph databases, machine learning, and ​deep learning. She keeps her membership in CSI, AMIE, and IEEE active. Many B.Tech and M.Tech projects ​have been mentored by her, and she is now supervising two research scholars as they work toward a Ph.D. ​As the Principal Investigator for a single study funded worth Rs 9,55,000/- by the University Grants ​Commission (UGC), Government of India. She has been employed by the Department of Science & ​Technology (DST) of the Government of India for two years as a Principle Investigator for the Women ​Scientist Scheme (WOS-A) at JNTU Kakinada. She was a session chair and attendee at numerous ​international conferences in India, Singapore, Canada, and the United States.

Dr. N. Sharmili, serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science ​and Engineering at GVP College of Engineering for Women since 2017. I received my ​B.Tech. degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from JNTU Kakinada, India ​in 2001. Subsequently, I obtained my M.Tech. in Computer Science and Technology from ​Andhra University in 2004, and completed my Ph.D. at the same institution in 2016. I am ​an enthusiastic researcher who is passionate about designing innovative solutions for ​world’s research challenges in Computer science engineering to help society. She has 16 ​years of teaching experience, and her research interests include IoT, Blockchain, Machine ​Learning, Embedded Systems, Visual Cryptography, Image Processing, and electrical ​stimulation of retinal tissue to restore vision.

Dr. Dwiti Krishna Bebarta received his UG degree in electronic and communication ​engineering from The Institution of Engineers (India) in 1996, the M. Prof. G.Sudheer obtained his Ph.D in 2016 from Andhra Uniuveristy in Applied ​Mathematics. include pseudospectral methods, time series analysis, Cubic equations of ​State, image processing, Rayleigh surface waves, Guided waves. Time series Analysis is ​based on Hybrid models that utilize wavelets, Weighted nearest neighborhood ​techniques, Pattern Sequence similarity methods. In Image processing, the present work ​is in the area of face recognition and Mathematical Character recognition. Rayleigh ​waves are used in the characterization of biological tissues and Guided waves are ​currently being applied to the characterization of adhesive-adherend interfaces.

Dr. K. L. Sai Prasad was a Ph.D. research scholar under the supervision of Prof. B. B. ​Sinha and Dr. Kalpana in the area of Differential Geometry from 1992-96 and received ​his doctorate degree in the year 1996 from the Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi; one ​of the premier Institutions of the country. To date, he put in total 27 Years of Teaching ​Experience in both India and abroad and taught various courses for UG and PG students. ​His area of research include differentiable structures on manifolds and graph networking ​models. He guided 2 Ph.D. research scholars of JNTUK University, Kakinada. He reviewed ​many research papers and written Four Mathematics text books for B,Tech. students. He ​organized two National Level conferences and a mini-symposia in an International ​conference. Rajesh Babu Bitra is an Assistant Professor of Physics at GVP College of Engineering for ​Women. Rajesh Babu finished his Ph.D. in Physical Science at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological ​University Kakinada in 2016. In 2019, Rajesh Babu was awarded with the Fondecyt fellowship ​by the National Fund for Scientific and Technological Development,Chile, South America, to ​pursue three years of postdoctoral research at the University of Concepcion,Chile. Dr. Rani Prava Nanda, has been working as an assistant professor of chemistry at the GVP College of ​Engineering for Women since 2012. Dr. Rani finished her Ph.D. full-time, from Andhra University in ​2007. She was engaged in research from 1995, as Junior Research Fellow and Senior Research Fellow ​in the Department of Anticancer drug development and Chemotherapy, at Chittaranjan National ​Cancer Institute, (CNCI), Kolkata. She has a teaching experience of over 15 Years and research ​experience of over 15 years. She has an Indian patent to her credit. She was awarded Rajnikant Baxi ​Award for Young Scientist at the 17th International Conference of Indian Association for Cancer ​Research (I.A.C.R.) in 1998. Her work was presented at 17th International Cancer Congress by -​International Union Against Cancer (U.I.C.C.), Rio-de-Janerio, Brazil in 1998. She was the Principal ​Investigator of DST- SERC FAST TRACK project (12.09 Lakh for 3 years), starting in 2010. She is also ​the recipient of NAARI SHAKTHI AWARD for Best Woman Academician, given by Yellapragada Life ​Sciences and Universal Society for Research and development in 2022. Her research articles were ​published in reputed journals with Science citation indexing. Her research interests include synthetic ​organic chemistry and biological activity studies of the synthesized compounds. She is a recognized ​research guide by Andhra University and currently guiding one research scholar for Ph.D.

Dr.Alekya Chalumuri,working as Assistant Professor of English at Gayatri Vidya Parishad College of ​Engineering for Women(GVPCEW),Visakhapatnam. She received her Ph.D degree from Adikavi ​Nannaya University.
